Hole alignment off

Holes in the bike rack mounting bracket did not align with the holes on cargo rack. Had to re-drill holes & use larger washers. Tire hangers are not long enough to accommodate my fat tire ebike.

Hi James, Sorry to hear about the holes not aligning. Can you tell us which version of the GearCage you are using? The Rack-IT 2.0 only fits the GearCage T6 and not prior models, so that may be the issue. As noted on the product page, The Rack-IT is only designed to fit standard bikes with tires up to 2.75in. Is it possible to attach two of these to the cargo rack for four bikes?

Yes, you may purchase two Rack-IT systems to carry four bikes on the GearCage T6! Please review the Rack-IT's 40 pounds per bike/80 total pound capacity, and your vehicle's tongue weight capacity to make sure the total weight of the cargo rack, two bike rack add-ons, four bikes, and additional cargo doesn't result in potential failures.

Can this be used on a class b camper van?

The Rack-IT accessory and GearCage T6 Rack are rated for motorized vehicles, but not rated for travel trailers or fifth wheels. Rack-It can carry bikes weighing no more than 40-pounds each, wheels with 22-inch diameter wheels or larger, and widths up to 2.75 inches.

Can the carrier be used on its own or only in combination with the gearcage? We already own gearcage but I was just wondering. Thanks!

The Rack-IT can only be used on the GearCage, however there is an accessory adapter that does allow for it to be used on a hitch called the Bump-IT.
